Signs of Mature Neodermis
Previous Previous | Next Next

Neodermis formation typically takes 14-21 days. Signs that the Neodermis is
sufficiently mature include:

  • The progression of the color,
from red to pink to orange/peach
         to vanilla white
  • The silicone appears wrinkled
  • The obvious formation of
         granulation tissue at the seams
         of the silicone. (Granulation tissue
may appear as deep red color
         and a granular surface that
         bleeds easily).
  • Neodermis blanches white upon
         release of light finger pressure
         before returning to an orange/
         peach or vanilla color
