In unmeshed INTEGRA™
Bilayer Matrix Wound Dressing sheets, clear or
amber fluid may accumulate under the matrix between INTEGRA™
Bilayer Matrix Wound Dressing and the wound bed.
Although fluid drainage is a normal part of the healing
process, fluid accumulation can lead to infection and
/or the formation of granulation tissue and should therefore
be evacuated.
Intervention:
Evacuate by needle aspiration, rolling
or wicking with a cotton tip applicator or gauze pad.
